County Cross Country Championships 2025


The Derbyshire County Cross Championships will return to Shipley Country in January 2025 and hosted by Heanor Running Club.    As in previous years, this will be held jointly with Nottinghamshire

Entries are now open and can be accessed via the link SportSoft Entries & Results. Further details are in the attached prospectus

Please note that entry fees have had to be increased from previous years due to higher charges incurred when hiring the Park

Please note too that included is the UKA Rule regarding County Qualification as published in the UKA Rulebook and on their website.

All County officials have been emailed about their availability for the Championships.

Wilne 10k
The above race incorporates the County Championship for Seniors and Masters Male and Female at Wilne on Sunday 1st September. Entry via www.runderby.co.uk by Monday 26th August 2024 at 5.00pm.
Place medals will be awarded on the day for Seniors, Masters 35-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ based on the number of entries per age category. There will be no team awards. Entrants need to satisfy the county qualification criteria in UKA Rule G2 S6 (Page 324 of the current Rulebook dated 1st April 2024).

Young Athletes Inter-Counties
The annual inter-counties fixture is being held at the Pingles Stadium, Nuneaton on Saturday 14th September. The U15 & U13 girls and boys teams will be selected based on the Mini League results. The teams are being selected now and athletes will be notified very soon. The track events start at 12.00 and field at 11.30am. Last events are due to start at 3.05pm (field) and 4.45pm (Track).

English Schools Track & Field Championships 2024
On behalf of Derbyshire Athletics we wish all our younger members and athletes the best of luck if competing in the "kids Olympics" at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th July.
The selected youngsters have battled through area/district selection procedures, followed up with the county Schools Championships in June and the Mason Trophy (inter-County) a week later. Now they take on the might of all-England over a 2-day meeting involving about 2000 youngsters, 200+ team managers and over 150 Technical Officials. The county wishes everyone a great Championships and hopes you all enjoy this experience.

County Track & Field Championships  2024

Remember ALL track athletes MUST register at least an hour before their event. If you fail to register you will not be allowed to compete. Please wear the vest of your first claim club, county vest, area vest or International vest when you compete in both Track and Field events.

Mini League Sportshall 2023-24

Each competition starts at 1.00pm. Athletes and parents will only be allowed access to the Sports Hall at around 12.45pm. Help is needed to set up the Sports Hall and clear away. Access to the hall for helpers and officials from 12.15pm please.

There has been a slight change to the athlete number allocations, affecting the smaller clubs only. Details in the rule document.

Clubs MUST bring officials and helpers. Minimum of 1 track judge (give out finishing position tokens), 1 timekeeper, and a team of field event helpers (a working knowledge of Sportshall event rules is useful and a qualified Level 1 or above when it is your turn to work on shot is essential for safety reasons). Your officials / helpers MUST report / make themselves known to organisers well before the scheduled 1.00pm start so that organisers know who we have and whether an event can run.

Clubs - please send your declarations to Trev Jolly jollyfamily@hotmail.com  before the day please. We just need name (first name and surname), age group and the number allocated to them for the season
the officials have been notified and an online form needs to be completed. If you are available / not available to help, please complete the form so that we know in advance whether we have sufficient bodies to run the event

Officials Course

There is a Level 1 Face to Face Officials Course at Moorways Stadium, Derby on Saturday 30th September at 10.00am. The course covers Track, Field, Timekeeping and Photo Finish.  If you wish to assist your youngster or any other athletes  in being able to compete then why not join the dwindling army of local Officials?
