Dear Club Secretaries, Coaches, Officials & Volunteers Please find attached the latest Coach & Officials Education Course flyers showing the currently advertised courses for the Midlands & South West Area. Hopefully the information attached and below will assist you in organising any training requirements for your volunteers. All forms need to be sent to England Athletics at least two weeks before each course. Application forms can be downloaded from the each course page on our website. **Information for all Athletic Coach level or level 2 or above coaches ** Date for your diary - FREE Event Group Throws Integration Day Pilot on 07.03.2015 at Loughborough University starting at 9am. If you wish to take advantage of the opportunity to attend the Integration Day free of charge then please complete all the 25 modules of the Event Group Throws Online material as soon as possible. You must have completed the online course before you can book onto the Integration Day. Field, Track, Timekeeping, Starter/Marksman, Photofinish & Endurance http://www.englandathletics.org/england-athletics-officials Volunteers AthleACADEMY new leadership academy scheme available to England Athletics registered athletes England Athletics is looking to create, develop and inspire the next generation of volunteers who will not only help support the development of the sport, but also gain new invaluable skills that they will be able to take into their life outside of Athletics The new “AthleACADEMY” scheme will provide registered athletes aged 14+ with an opportunity to learn about the various roles available within the sport, from coaching to volunteering and from club management to media and promotion via the completion of Bronze, Silver and Gold award within 5 areas unique areas. They will be provided with their own workbook to log their hours and record their progression AthleLEARNER: Learning new skills and qualifications AthleDEVELOPER: Working with a mentor to develop your interests AthleVOLUNTEER: Volunteering in Athletics AthlePLANNER: Writing a project AthleMEDIA: Media and promotion within Athletics AthleACADEMY is available free of charge to registered athletes. The first 100 clubs who sign up to the scheme will also benefit from free delivery of your resources. We have been getting a lot of emails, calls and asked about missing licences. It is very important that all Coaches & Officials keep their licence updated, as it protects them and others, as it validates and insures the Coaches and Officials qualifications. So please if you do not have a current licence card with a valid date on it, you need to check the following: Have you got a current UKA DBS/CRB Disclosure and have you sent it in to UKA Welfare to be added to your licence? If you have a valid certificate but have not sent it please go to www.englandathletics.org/dbs <http://www.englandathletics.org/dbs> for the address. If you do not have a UKA DBS form to complete email your name, address and date of birth to firstname.lastname@example.org <mailto:email@example.com> and a form will be posted out to you.
